The Lady Kernels softball team gets back to the field tomorrow afternoon. They’ll be on the road taking in Brookings. Varsity will play first at 3pm and JV will play at 5pm.
The Lady Kernels golf team returns to the course tomorrow morning. They will be playing in a Varsity Invitational against various schools here in Mitchell at Lakeview Golf Course at 10:30am.
The Mitchell track & field teams are set to compete tomorrow in a Varsity Invitational. They will be on the road for this meet at Kimball-White Lake.
Dakota Wesleyan
The NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships continue again today and go through Friday. Alison Meyerink continues on in these National Championships. She is currently in 27th place individually through day two and has missed only four greens in regulation over the first 36 holes on one of the most challenging courses in the NAIA. Meyerink will continue to play again today at the Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, MI.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins were able to keep up their winning ways yesterday. Their Tuesday game was postponed, and they played a doubleheader yesterday afternoon. They took down Baltimore in Game 1, 6-3 and in Game 2, 8-6. They have now won 10 straight games and are 23-20 overall. The Twins will round out this series today at 11:35am.
NFL
The league released their schedules for the season last night. The Minnesota Vikings begin their three-game preseason on Saturday, August 9th at 3pm. They will open regular season play on Monday Night Football at against the Chicago Bears at 7:15pm on ABC/ESPN.
WNBA
The 2025 WNBA season kicks off tomorrow night with three games on the schedule! It starts with the Atlanta Dream at the Washington Mystics and the Minnesota Lynx at the Dallas Wings both starting at 6:30pm. Ending the night will be the Los Angeles Sparks at the Golden State Valkyries at 9pm. With all games available on ION and WNBA League Pass.
NBA
The NBA playoffs keep on trucking along last night. The No. 2 seed Boston Celtics were able to keep their season alive after beating the No. 3 seed New York Knicks, 127-102. Next, were the No. 7 seed Minnesota Timberwolves against the No. 6 Golden State Warriors. Minnesota closed out the Warriors in this series and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
