Mitchell
The Mitchell varsity softball team will be playing today in Mitchell as they take on Pierre at Cadwell Park. They will start at 5:30pm and JV will begin at 4pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
The Tiger softball team will hit the road today to continue Great Plains Athletic Conference play. They will head to Freemont, NE to take on the Midland Warriors in a doubleheader that starts at 2 & 4pm.
Tiger baseball will have a single game tomorrow on the road in Brookings. They’ll take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in a non-conference game that will be played at Erv Huether Field beginning at 3pm.
The Tiger golf teams will be having day two action here in Mitchell at the Lakeview Golf Course. They’re hosting the DWU Spring Invite, and it will begin for the men and the women at 11am today. The Tigers lead all teams after day one for the men at five over par and the women currently sit in second at 45 over par. The men have some Tigers in the Top 10 after day one including Drew Norberg & Connor Calahan tied for ninth at three over par. While Peyton Bettcher is tied for fifth at one over par and DWU’s Dakota Munger leads all golfers at two under par and in first place. The women have just one in the Top 10 as of now and it’s Ashton Austreim at 10 over par and tied for ninth.
March Madness
The men’s National Championship game occurred last night between No. 1 Florida and No. 1 Houston. It came down to the final seconds and a costly late-game turnover from Houston that prevented their chance to tie or take the lead. It was the Gators who came away the winners, winning it 65-63 and earning their first championship since 2007.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins opened a new series with the Kansas City Royals last night in Kansas City. It was the Royals who came away with a 4-2 win to begin this series. Minnesota gets another chance at them today at 6:40pm.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves return to action tonight to take on the Milwaukee Bucks at 7pm on NBA League Pass. A pair of National TV games are on tap in the NBA tonight. It’s the Boston Celtics at the New York Knicks at 6:30pm and then the Golden State Warriors at the Phoenix Suns at 9pm. Both games are on TNT/TruTV/MAX.
