Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams each took on Aberdeen Central last night. For the girls, they battled with the No. 5 Golden Eagles all night long and nearly came away with a win, but it slipped in the final minutes and they lost 57-52. They fall to 11-5 overall and 6-1 in the Eastern South Dakota Conference with back-to-back losses following their 10-game winning streak. For the boys, they had a fantastic start to the game and won the opening quarter 21-5 with 12 of those points coming from Colton Smith. They never looked back from that point and won it, 54-34. Smith poured in a season-high 28 points and added 10 rebounds in the win for a double-double. The boys improved to 7-8 overall and 4-3 in ESD play.

DWU Basketball

The Tiger basketball teams will get back to action tonight on the road. They will be in Forest City, IA at the Hanson Fieldhouse on Denny Jerome Court with each team facing Waldorf. The No. 9 women’s basketball team will play first at 5pm and the men will follow and play at 6:45pm.

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit basketball teams are both in action tomorrow but play different opponents. The women will be facing North Dakota at home in Brookings, SD at First Bank & Trust Arena. Tipoff will be at 7pm and airs on the Summit League Network/Midco Sports. The men will be in Denver, CO taking on Denver. Tipoff is at 8pm and will air on the Summit League Network.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves remain at home for their next game, which is tonight. They will host the Portland Trail Blazers at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN at 7pm on NBA League Pass.
