In the opening game of Day 2 at the State Amateur Baseball tournament, Menno defeated Redfield DQ, 10-8.  Menno scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to secure the win.  Menno will face Plankinton F&M Bankers Sunday evening at 7:30 pm.

Plankinton needed 11 innings to get past Clark, winning 10-8.  Chris Hill hit a 2-run walk-off homerun to give Plankinton the win.

Mt. Vernon notched 20 hits in their win over Akron, Iowa, 13-5.  Bradley Dean and Koby Larson each had 4 hits for the Mustangs.

In the final game of the night,  Tabor jumped out in front of Flandreau with three runs in the third inning,  but Flandreau came back with four runs in the fourth and never gave up the lead winning 9-4.  Both teams ended with 11-hits.  Leading Flandreau were Brett Severtson and Jordan Gessling each with two RBI’s.  Severtson pitched the first seven innings to get the win.  Flandreau will now face Mt. Vernon in the second round on Monday night at 5:30pm.
