Following a stormy holiday weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the James River from Huron to Mitchell. National Weather Service Meteorologist Jen Hacker says the largest hail fell Saturday night from Freeman and Menno to the Sioux Falls area. She says golf ball to tennis ball-sized hail was reported in those areas. There were also isolated reports of 70-75 mph winds. Hacker says most of the reported damage consisted of downed tree branches and power lines with isolated structure damage to outbuildings, sheds, and machine sheds. There were also some reports of isolated roof damage. Only two tornadoes have been confirmed. Both of those were in southwest Minnesota.
Hacker says we can expect cooler temperatures and some isolated showers this week.
