Mitchell firefighters were on the scene of a fire in downtown Mitchell yesterday afternoon. According to a release from the department, at about 4:45, fire crews were dispatched to Graham Tire at 720 North Main Street. Upon arrival, they found about 30 large tractor tires on fire in the east storage lot. Crews used an aggressive fire attack to try and prevent the spread of fire to other tires. The fire was under control in about an hour. No injuries were reported. The cause of this fire was malicious in nature, and the suspect has been located. Further information is expected to be released later today.
