Authorities have interviewed three people in connection with a small fire which broke out yesterday in downtown Mitchell outside of the Corn Palace. Just before 4:30, the Mitchell Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the 600 block of North Lawler. On arrival, crews found decorative materials used for the Corn Palace on fire. The fire was threatening a structure as well as a canopy used for shade. Fire crews quickly contained the fire, and no damage was noted to adjacent structures. Surveillance cameras aided authorities in finding three persons of interest in the incident.
