Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash which happened just after 10 PM last night at the intersection of South Sanborn Boulevard and West Birch Avenue in Mitchell.  A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am  traveling southbound on Sanborn at a high rate of speed rear ended a 2017 Ford Focus.  The driver of the Grand Am, 27-year old Samantha Stemper of Wagner, was taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt, and charges are pending against her. The 42-year old female driver of the Ford Focus and a 51-year old male passenger suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. They were wearing seat belts and were also taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. An investigation into the accident is ongoing by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
