SIOUX CITY, IOWA MITCHELLNOW)  The Dakota Wesleyan University Lady Tigers fell to Cumberlands 87-80 in the NAIA National Championship Tournament on Friday in Sioux City, Iowa.

The DWU and Cumberlands players watched as Taliyah Hayes’ shot swished to give the Tigers a big first half lead of 43-34 in the Round of 16.  Rylee Rosenquist finished the first half with 11 points, followed by Shalayne Nagel with 10, Emma Yost with 6 and Hayes with 5.

The second half was a different story, with the Lady Tigers holding onto the lead in the third quarter 69-65. The Patriots delivered the knockout blow in the fourth quarter, going on a 22-11  run to close out the game. Shalayne Nagel finished with 21 points for DWU.

The Tigers finish the season with a 22-11 record.
