The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team was at home yesterday competing in a doubleheader. The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team was facing a familiar foe in the Post 307 Renner baseball team. The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team lost a close game vs the Post 307 Renner baseball team earlier in the month 6 to 4.

The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team blew the game wide open early scoring 10 runs in the 2nd inning thanks to Gavin Jones three RBI Day scoring three runs. He also finished the game going 2 for 4 at the plate. Mitchell’s Cannon Moller then followed suit with 5 RBI’s going 3 for 3 at the plate as well scoring a run. The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team would score six more runs to close out the 307 Renner 16u baseball team by the final of 17 to 2. Gavin Jones picked up the win for the Mitchell 16u teener baseball team going 3 innings allowing two runs on one hit while fanning 4.

The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team again jumped out to an early lead in game two of the doubleheader vs 307 post Renner scoring three runs in the bottom of the 1st then another 4 more runs in the bottom of the second and five more in the bottom of the third to grab a huge 12 to 2 advantage. The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team scored 1 more run in the last two innings to win by the final of 13 to 2. The Mitchell 16u teener baseball teams Tyler Christensen picked up the win going 2 innings only allowing two runs on 0 hits while striking out 2. Quinton Wilson and Cannon Moller combined to drive in 4 RBI’s. The Mitchell 16u teener baseball team is off till this Friday when they battle 507 Blizzard 16u baseball team in Sioux Falls starting at 12:00 pm.

The DWU Football youth camps are on July 15^th and 16^th with a 6:30-8:00 p.m. session. The DWU Football youth camps are for grades k- 8^th grades and are for grades entering fall of 2024. The cost of The DWU Football youth camps is $30 per participant. The DWU Football youth camps are from 6:30pm- 8:00pm on July 15^th for k-4^th grades and July 16^th for grades 5^th-8^th grades and includes a T-shirt. Players will participate in non-contact drills and are run by DWU Coaches and players. The DWU Football youth camps are on July 15^th and 16^th. The Mitchell Aces have played all their games at home this season but one and were looking to get to 6-2 on the season on Sunday at Cadwell Park. They would play two games at home over the weekend and would come from behind in both games winning both games vs the Parkston Devil Rays and the Yankton Tappers by the final of 6 to 5. The Mitchell Aces have now won five straight games and will look to make it six straight tonight at Cadwell park vs the visiting Parkston Mudcats starting at 7 pm.

Tonight is our KOOL 98.3 FM Amateur Baseball G.O.T.W. as we will be in Alexandria that features the visiting 12-8 Dimock Emery Raptors taking on the 11-2 Alexandria Angels at home. The Mitchell kernels girls’ basketball camps are taking place on July 9^th and July 10^th and are for girls in k-6^th grades. Start time for k-2^nd grades 1:00 p.m.-2 p.m. 3^rd grades through 4^th grades 10:45 a.m.- noon. 5^th-6^th grades 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. The Mitchell kernels girls’ basketball camp costs $45 per player or $65 per family for 2 or more campers. The cost of the Mitchell kernels girls’ basketball camps includes a Camp T-shirt. Mitchell kernels girls’ basketball camps is at Mitchell High School and is run by the Mitchell High School girls’ basketball coaching staff and players.
