Mitchell Kernels

The boys golf team competed yesterday morning at 10am at the Moccasin Creek Country Club. The team finished 7th out of 10 teams in the Eastern South Dakota meet. They managed a pair of Kernels in the Top 30 – Asher Dannenbring tied for 27th going 14 over par with a score of 86 & Everett Morrison tied for 15th going 11 over par and a score of 83.

Kernel girls tennis continue their multi-day event. Continuing their ESD Meet they began yesterday. They will continue again this morning at 8am to round things out.

Multiple games will take place today for Kernel volleyball against Sioux Falls Lincoln. Beginning at 4:30pm with the JV, followed by the Sophomores at 5:30pm and Varsity and 7pm.

The soccer teams have various matches today as well against Aberdeen Central. It will start with the girls JV at 4pm on the East Practice Field and the boys JV will follow at 6pm. Varsity boys also play at 4pm on Joe Quintal Field and the girls varsity will follow at 6pm.

Dakota Wesleyan

Each of the Tiger golf teams will continue action today. They’re competing in the Tatanka Fall Invite. DWU had five total players shoot below 90 and one, Drew Norberg, shoot below 80 with a score of 79. Play continues this morning with both men and the women beginning at 8am.

Tiger volleyball player Kayleigh Hybertson has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Setter-of-the-Week. She posted 9.63 assists per set (34 total vs Haskell) along with 16 digs and three blocks. Hybertson and the Tigers hope to garnish another win today with their matchup with the Mount Marty Lancers. They will head out for their match this afternoon. First serve is set for 7:30pm.

WNBA

Both Game 2’s for each of these WNBA Semifinal matchups will get rolling today. Each game will be on ESPN2 with the Las Vegas Aces at the New York Liberty starting at 6:30pm. Followed by the Connecticut Sun on the road again to face the Minnesota Lynx at 8:30pm.

NFL

Monday Night Football action in the NFL was in full swing yesterday. The closing games of Week 4 action wrapped up on MNF. It began with the Tennessee Titans vs the Miami Dolphins. Miami continued to struggle this season and fell short in yet another outing. The Titans were clicking and asserted themselves in a much-needed win. They came out on top, 31-12. In the second game of the night, it was the Detroit Lions who broke through for their best game of the year on offense. In a game where Jared Goff was a perfect 18-for-18 throwing the football, they were clicking on all cylinders. Detroit put up a 42-29 win against the Seattle Seahawks.
