Two people have been arrested after shots were fired at a vehicle in Mitchell early Wednesday morning.  Just before 2 AM, officers from the Mitchell Police Department responded to a report of shots being fired at a vehicle in the area of the 800 block of West Ash. The victim was able to give a description of the vehicle from which the shots were fired.  Law enforcement was able to stop this vehicle in the approximate 1400 block of West Ash. Three individuals were detained, and a handgun was ultimately recovered from the vehicle. During the investigation it was learned that the shooting occurred in the 1100 block of West Ash and multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Arrested were 20-year old Johnathan Velazquez and 25-year old Isaac Chytka.  Velazquez faces charges of aggravated assault and shooting from a motor vehicle.  Chytka faces a count of aiding and abetting aggravated assault.
