PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Violent crime dropped 15.2% across the United States in the first three months of 2024 compared with the same time last year, according to FBI statistics. Some of the most significant drops were in the categories of rape and murder which both fell around 26%. Murder was down 40% in large American cities like New Orleans, Seattle, Philadelphia and Boston.
FBI analysts say if the trend continues, the United States may see the largest one-year decrease in murders in the nation’s history.
