The First meeting of the season of the Mitchell Quarterback Club will be held at Lakeview Golf Course tonight Wednesday August 28th starting at 6:30 pm. The Mitchell Quarterback Club will meet every Wednesday night going forward for the entire 2024-2025 season. The doors open at 5:30 and the meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. The membership dues for the Mitchell Quarterback Club are $20 and are good for the entire 2024-2025 season. Speaking this week at the Mitchell Quarterback Club will be the Fall coaches for Mitchell High School and the Fall coaches for DWU. The Mitchell Quarterback Club meetings are open to the public but does require a membership starting this Wednesday night at 6:30 pm at Lakeview Golf Course.

The Mitchell Kernels girl’s tennis team is on a roll to start the 2024 season. They won easily Friday in a home dual at Hitchcock Park beating the Harrisburg Tigers by the final of 8 to 1 as in-flight singles Megan Mastel lost her first match 6-3 7-6 (7-3) but then in-flight singles #2 Carson Weich was a big winner 6-2 6-0. The Kernels girls Katie Morgan then followed suit winning by the final of 6-1 6-0 in her flight # 3 and Elly Clement won her flight # 4 6-0 6-4 as well and winning flight singles # 5 was Matteah Graves winning by the final of 6-0 6-0 and Mia Larson won her flight # six 6-0 7-5.
The Kernel girls won three straight flights in doubles play over the Harrisburg Tigers winning by the final of 6-1 6-2, 6-2 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) 6-3. The Mitchell Kernels Tennis team is now 5-0 to start the season and 3-0 in ESD Conference play. The kernels girls’ varsity tennis team beat SF O’Gorman on Saturday at Mc Kennan Park winning by the final of 7-2.
The DWU Men’s golf team kicked off their 2024 golfing season in the Mount Marty Invite at Hillcrest Country Club and had a great Tournament finishing 7th as a team with a total two-day team score of 603. The Tigers Peyton Bettcher finished in 15th with a two-day total of 147. Dakota Munger finished in 22nd place with a two-day score of 148. The Tigers Connor Calahan finished in 41st place with a two-day score of 153. The Tigers Jackson Childs and Drew Norberg finished in 46th an 65th with a two-day score of 155 and 162 respectively.
