After a warm and windy Friday, a reminder that spring has not yet arrived comes in the form of a winter weather advisory which takes effect Saturday morning at 6 AM for Mitchell and the area. Precipitation is expected to start Friday night as drizzle and then will change to freezing drizzle and sleet overnight. On Saturday, precipitation is expected in the form of freezing rain and snow possibly mixed with sleet in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulations of 1-2 inches are expected with ice accumulation expected to be about a quarter of an inch. Light snow is expected on Saturday night possibly mixed with freezing rain. Patchy blowing snow is also expected overnight into Sunday with light accumulations.
