The South Dakota Municipal Street Maintenance Association has awarded Traffic Control Device Grants of up to $2,500 to Burke, Crooks, Murdo, and Platte to enhance local traffic safety.
The federal trial for Cory Cumings, a Mount Vernon man accused of illegally possessing over 100 firearms and ammunition as an unlawful drug user, has been postponed until September. Cumings has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge. The firearms, seized from his home and business, are also part of a pending federal forfeiture case. His attorney claims the seizure violated Cumings’ constitutional rights.
