The Mitchell High baseball team is opening postseason play on Saturday in Sioux Falls as the #9 seed.
The Class A baseball playoff bracket was unveiled Wednesday, with the Kernels facing #8 seed Sioux Falls O’Gorman at 11am Saturday morning at Harmodon Park in Sioux Falls. Those two teams didn’t play in the regular season because of a weather issue. The winner takes on #1 seed Sioux Falls Lincoln for the right to play in the four-team Class A state tournament.
All Class A teams are playing at four regional sites on Saturday. #2 seed Sioux Falls Roosevelt is also hosting a region tournament at Harmodon Park, #3 seed Pierre is hosting games at Hyde Stadium in Pierre, while the #4 seed Harrisburg is hosting at Legion Park. The state tournament is set for Saturday, May 29th at Sioux Falls Stadium.
