The Class B state baseball tournament field is now set after region 2 games were played out Wednesday.
At the Canova site, the #1 seed Howard Tigers took care of Clark 9-1 in the semifinals, while #4 seed Sioux Valley shutout Castlewood/Deuel 4-0. In the region final, Howard held on to blank Sioux Valley 1-0 to earn their spot in the Class B state tournament, their first appearance in program history.
Meanwhile at the Madison site, #2 seed Madison shutout Miller/Highmore/Wolsey/Wessington 8-0, then #3 seed Redfield beat Hamlin 3-0 in the semifinals. In the region final, Redfield pulled the upset over Madison 7-3 in eight innings to punch their ticket to the state tournament.
The full field for the 2021 Class B state baseball tournament is now set, with games starting on Monday in Sioux Falls.
