The Mitchell Aftershock were runners up this over the weekend at the 16U Division C fast pitch state tournament. The Aftershock went 5-2. Both losses came against state champion Elk Point Jefferson.
Mitchell defeated the Thunder Birds 21-3 in the opening round on Friday. Later on Friday, Mitchell defeated Pierre 3-2.
Mitchell’s first loss was on Saturday to Elk Point Jefferson 1-0. Moving into the loser’s bracket, Mitchell beat the storm 11-3, Luverne Blaze 3-2 and then RC Inferno 3-2.
That put Mitchell into the state championship game to again take on Elk Point Jefferson.
Mitchell lost 9-0 in the state title game on Sunday.
