The South Dakota Department of Health released its weekly COVID-19 update today. 113 new cases have been reported in the past week, with 208 cases currently active. 20 people are hospitalized with the virus. Only one death was reported in the past week, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic to 2,040. Davison County is down to one active case. The percentage of South Dakotans who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine remained at 57 percent, which is where it has been since late June.
