Last night in Amateur baseball, the Plankinton Gold Sox lost to Miller 5-3 in District 3B. Miller moves on to play Colome tomorrow. Cody Cotton pitched a complete game for Miller in the win and struck out 10. Miller broke the game open in the sixth inning with three runs to take a 4-1 lead.
Tye Harris and Ryland DeVries led the way offensively for Plankinton, both going 3-of-5 at the bat with an RBI.
In the District 4B semifinals, Flandreau takes on the Canova Gang tonight at 6 p.m. — and then it’s Dell Rapids Mudcats versus Dell Rapids PBR at 8 p.m.
In District 5B, Platte will face Mt. Vernon on Thursday night, and Alexandria will play Thursday against the winner of the game between Parkston and Corsica-Stickney tonight.
Dimock-Emery and Winner-Colome will play for the 4B District title on Friday.
