The Mitchell City Council last night approved the taxicab application from Speedy Taxi. The company’s license was denied last June due to complaints about the company and its owner, Dustin Feistner. Feistner has a criminal background and served time in prison but has completed parole with no violations. Councilwoman Susan Tjarks said she believed he deserves a second chance.
City Attorney Justin Johnson says the license can be revoked at any time if any issues arise.
Feistner says he would like to fill a void in taxicab service that currently exists in Mitchell. Beginning hours will be 9 AM until 2 AM seven days a week.
Speedy Taxi is the third taxicab service currently available in Mitchell.
