An Arizona couple pleaded not guilty to charges of child and elder abuse as well as several drug charges on Tuesday in Davison County Court. 37-year old Jamie Bosone and 38-year old Daniel Smythe were at Betts Campground just outside of Mitchell earlier this month when authorities received a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived to find drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the couple’s RV. A 70-year old woman had been locked out of the vehicle, which is where a 4-year old child also lived. Bond reduction requests were granted for both Bosone and Smythe, cutting the amounts in half from $20,000 cash-only bonds to $10,000 cash-only bonds. Bosone faces a maximum sentence of nearly 30 years in prison if convicted, while Smythe faces a maximum sentence of nearly 40 years in prison.
