The Davison County Planning Commission will meet tonight to consider a conditional use permit for a planned soybean processing facility south of Mitchell. Public input will be taken at tonight’s meeting, which is scheduled for 7 PM at the Davison County Fairgrounds. The South Dakota Soybean Processors’ $450 million facility would be located at the intersection of 257th Street and Highway 37, about two miles south of Mitchell. Construction on the facility, which will be able to process around 35 million bushels of soybeans annually and would add around 75 jobs, would begin in fall 2023.
