The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a Tuesday afternoon vehicle-pedestrian crash. The crash occurred at around 4:45 PM at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Main Street in Mitchell. A Pontiac Bonneville was traveling eastbound on 15th and turned to left to head north on Main Street. A pedestrian who was walking west across Main Street was struck. He was not in a crosswalk. The collision happened in the left northbound lane. The 42-year old male driver of the Bonneville was not injured in the crash. The 45-year old male pedestrian was taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
