With Election Day coming up, there has been increased talk of voter fraud and the security of the upcoming election. Davison County Auditor Sue Kiepke says South Dakota’s elections are secure.  “Everybody must present a voter ID in order to vote,” says Kiepke.  “When we process absentee ballots, the signatures are compared to the applications.  None of our machines are hooked to the internet.  They have no outside sources hooked to them, so they’re very secure.”

She says a public test run will be held today (Thursday) at 10 AM at the Davison County Courthouse.  She says the intent is for the public to see how the machine operates and to show that the hand count matches the machine count.
