Gertie Belle Rogers third grade teacher Traci Wilson was named the 2023 Mitchell School District Teacher of the Year on Wednesday. Wilson, who has been with the Mitchell School District for 15 years, was honored at a ceremony at the MCTEA building. She is now eligible for Region Teacher of the Year and the South Dakota Teacher of the Year. Longfellow School librarian Becky Coats was honored as Classified Staff of the Year. Coats has been with the Mitchell School District for 13 years.
