Consideration to approve a resolution for a bond vote for the new Mitchell High School is on today’s Mitchell School Board agenda. The current high school will be replaced by a new school across the street, but the base plan approved by the school board leaves out many improvements to athletic facilities. The bond would cover the remainder of the costs of the school. The amount is not yet known, but it is expected to be close to $20 million. The bond vote could take place as early as June, as a city and school board election is already set to take place. Today’s Mitchell School Board meeting begins at 5:30 at the MCTEA building across from Mitchell Senior High School. It is open to the public.
