Petitions to run for Mitchell City Council and Mitchell School Board must be turned in in less than two weeks. Seats are up for election in all four wards in the city council race, with two incumbents, John Doescher in Ward 2 and Susan Tjarks in Ward 4, turning in petitions to run again. Mike Bathke has turned in a petition for the Ward 3 seat, while Tjarks will face Don Everson in Ward 4. In the Mitchell School Board race, incumbent Matthew Christiansen is the only candidate to turn in a petition. Petitions are due by 5 PM on Tuesday, March 28th. The election is set for Tuesday, June 6th.
