Candidates running for Mitchell City Council and Mitchell School Board have less than one week to turn in their signed petitions.
No one has turned in a petition to run in Ward 1, where Councilman Steve Rice’s seat is up for re-election in June. Incumbent John Doescher has turned in a petition to run for re-election in Ward 2. Jason Bates and Mike Bathke have turned in petitions to run in Ward 3. Incumbent Susan Tjarks is running for re-election in Ward 4. Don Everson has also turned in a petition to run for the Ward 4 seat.
In the Mitchell School Board race, incumbent Matthew Christiansen has turned in a petition to run for re-election. He will face challenger Deb Everson.
Signed petitions must be turned in by 5 PM on Tuesday, March 28th. The election is scheduled for June 6th.
