Davison County Emergency Management is once again hosting a Weather Awareness Training on Tuesday night at 7 PM at the Mitchell Technical College Amphitheater. Davison County Emergency Management Director Jeff Bathke says the event is hosted in conjunction with the National Weather Service. Meteorologist Matt Dux will explain to attendees how to spot severe weather events.
Different types of cloud formations, where to look for severe weather in those formations, how to respond to severe weather events, and how to report those events are some of the topics that will be covered.
Bathke says the hope is that attendees will be able to spot storms from their homes or normal locations as a set of extra eyes for Davison County and the National Weather Service.
The training is free and open to the public.
