Parkston – George J. Brech, 89, went to his heavenly home Monday, April 24 at Avera Bormann Manor. Funeral service will be Friday, April 28 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Visitation will be Thursday, April 27 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

George J. Brech was born November 9, 1933 to Theodore “Ted” and Loretta (Smith) Brech at Cottonwood, SD. He attended country school and parochial school in Parkston, SD through the 8th grade. He worked for several local farmers before serving his country in the United State Army for 2 years. He was united in marriage to Adeline Bietz on October 12, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. They lived in Mitchell, SD for seven years before moving to Parkston and were blessed with 64 years of marriage. George was an over the road trucker for 50 years, driving for various businesses including Land O Lakes for 20 years. He enjoyed going to Marlins Road House in Mitchell for coffee and socializing. George went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 24 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston at the age of 89.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Adeline of Parkston; 2 children: Douglas Brech of Parkston and Janet (Mike) Muilenburg of Ethan, SD; a step-grandson, Corey (Kylie) Muilenburg of Rapid City, SD; 5 sisters: Geraldine Hohn of Sioux Falls, SD; Alvina Roth of Parkston; Adeline Hohn of Mitchell; Dorothy Dvorak of Parkston; and Theresa (Patrick) Walz of Platte, SD; a sister-in-law, Idella Bietz of Tripp, SD; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
