While the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo may be cancelled for this year, a two-day bronco and bull riding event will take place at Horsemen’s Sports Arena in August. The event, called Shootout at the Lake, will take place on August 11th and 12th. Plankinton rodeo promoter Sheldon Tobin will put on the event, which will feature rough stock events, mutton bustin’, and a free concert on Friday night. Meanwhile, the rodeo grounds are listed for sale for $1.5 million. This year’s Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo was cancelled due to disputes and court action between Horsemen’s Sports Incorporated and the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo.
