Mitchell City Council approves, on first reading, rezoning of land for housing project on south side of Mitchell

The Mitchell City Council last night approved on first reading the rezoning of land on the south side of Mitchell for a housing project. Jensen Design Build’s Jeremy Jensen is planning to build 10 townhomes on land along Urbana Drive and Spruce Street. The land would need to be rezoned from urban development to highway business. Access would be off of Spruce Street. One letter was returned opposed to the plan due to concern about Urbana Drive becoming a commercial road. Jensen would need to obtain a conditional use permit and do a site plan as well.

The council unanimously approved the rezoning request.
