The Davison County Commission on Tuesday passed a $16.9 million budget for the 2024 fiscal year. Davison County Commissioner Randy Reider says this year’s budget had to be scaled back and retract due to federal money from the pandemic no longer coming in. Reider also praised Davison County Auditor Sue Kiepke for her efficiency in navigating the rules and conditions regarding those federal dollars.
The general fund budget of nearly $11.9 million includes $4.6 million for general government, and nearly $4.2 million for public safety. The county road and bridge fund for 2024 will be nearly $4.5 million. Davison County expects to collect just over $8.3 million in taxes in 2024.
