BROOKINGS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Formerly known as the Teen Leadership Conference and now called SkillsX by 4H will hold their annual conference on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings on June 3-7, 2024.
The conference is for youth ages 13 to 18 and will give them an opportunity to develop their leadership and life skills through an immersive educational experience. This year’s theme is Ticket to Your Future, which will weave references to popular movies throughout the event’s activities.
Registration is required with tickets purchased by April 20th costing $350 dollars and those bought later $375. Tickets must be acquired by May 3rd. To register, visit extensionsdstate.edu/events and search “SkillsX”.
Youth with a financial need are eligible for a $40 discount on their registration thanks to sponsorship by the Tractor Supply Company. To receive this discount, type TSC in all uppercase letters into the Enter Code field on the registration page prior to selecting the number of tickets.
SkillsX by 4H attendees will have opportunities to learn about science, agricultural leadership and health/wellness skills through workshops, tours and community service. State 4H ambassadors and conference committee officers say the event is fun and educational.
