MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW)  Congressman Dusty Johnson has announced the Congressional Art Competition winners.  In first place is Eva Madson, a senior at Roncalli High School in Aberdeen. Her art teacher is Amy Heinz.  Madson’s artwork is entitled “Freckle Face” and is a self-portrait highlighting her unique facial features surrounded by blooming roses.  This piece will be on display in the Cannon Tunnel at the US Capitol along with winning artwork from other congressional districts.

In second place was Lilly Young, a senior at Mitchell High School.  Her art teacher is Marica Shannon.  Young’s artwork is a black and white photograph called “Frozen in Fog” and will be displayed in Congressman Johnson’s Washington, D.C. office.
