PIERRE S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) It’s called “Grants for Grads”, and it’s designed to attract more workers to South Dakota.

The State Housing Development Authority is reviving the program, which was offered several years ago.  It’s open to recent graduates of South Dakota institutions of higher learning.  To qualify for the program, the applicant must have graduated sometime in the last sixty months.  The program allows applicants to apply for up to 5% of their down payment and closing costs for a home here in South Dakota.

The state hopes to give out roughly a thousand grants during the next year.
