SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Street racing is a serious and growing issue in Sioux Falls. A record number of citations have been issued but the street racing goes on.
That’s the problem Sioux Falls Police are wrestling with, as they report another fatality related to racing on city streets. Anatoliy Manuylo, 35 years-old, of Valley Springs hit a parked car while driving his motorcycle at over 100-miles an hour.
It was a race involving at least one other motorcycle, complete with spectators. Police Chief Jon Thum says new laws and tougher penalties are needed.
Chief Thum says his department has devoted more patrols to deal with the problem, but they still can’t cover the entire city all the time.
