MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A second former Mitchell Post 18 Legion player is scheduled to enter a guilty plea in Rapid City on Monday (June 17), according to court documents.  Six Mitchell Legion players were charged with rape and related charges stemming from an incident in a Rapid City hotel in June of 2023.

Court records show Peyton Mandel plans to plead guilty to being an accessory to a felony and in exchange the charges of rape against him will be dropped.  Mandel is scheduled to appear in court on Monday in Rapid City.  Accessory to a felony is a Class 5 Felony which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The remaining players charged with crimes will have their status hearing on July 1st in Rapid City.
