MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell Fire Fighters Union is trying to raise money to buy a $42,000 UTV.  The vehicle will be outfitted as an ambulance and used in all kinds of weather on all types of terrain in all seasons to render aid to those in need of emergency services in areas that are not readily accessible by a “regular” ambulance.

The vehicle has already been purchased by Iverson’s Power Sports and is being held for the Mitchell Fire Department.  The fire fighters have raised about have the necessary funds thus far.

Every Thursday at 7pm hosted by the VFW on Mitchell’s Main Street is a “Chase the Ace” fundraiser for the UTV project.  Interested persons purchase a $5 chance on pulling the Ace of Hearts.  The person that does wins half the pot which currently stands at $1500.  All are welcome to attend and participate.
