MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Theatre will present “The Play That Goes Wrong,” a comedy by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 11-12, 18-19 and Oct. 25-26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays, Oct. 13, 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. in the DWU Black Box Theatre. The final weekend of performances is billed as a special Fundraising Weekend for the department.

This Olivier Award-winning comedy is a hilarious hybrid of Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes. Welcome to the opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. There’s an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead and actors who trip over everything (including their lines).

General Admission tickets are $12 per person. Tickets are available in advance at https://store.dwu.edu/theatre or at the door.

The department’s next production, the musical “Footloose,” will be presented in partnership with Mitchell High School on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Mar. 27-29 and Apr. 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. at the MHS Performing Arts Center.
