In soccer news, Sam Mullenmeister has been named to the Eastern South Dakota All-Conference team for boys soccer. Additionally, on the girls side, both Taryn Thomas and Tenley Peterson have been name to the Eastern SD All-Conference team for girls soccer.

The varsity football team will travel to Huron tonight to face the Tigers. A rivalry game that will make a huge impact on the playoff picture. We’ll have the pregame in Huron at 6:40pm and kickoff at 7pm.

Dakota Wesleyan

Allison Meyerink has recently been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week for women’s golf. Coming off the heels of a solid performance at the Mustang Derby Invite in Sioux City, Iowa. Meyerink finished the tournament with a total score of 147, which was good for first place among all individual performers.

Volleyball will compete tomorrow against the College of Saint Mary (NE). They’ll aim to reel in back-to-back wins for the first time in a month. First serve is set for 5pm in the Christin Family Athletic Center.

Tiger football will have a daunting matchup tomorrow and look for their third straight win. They will host the No. 4 ranked Dordt Defenders for a game at Joe Quintal Field. The pregame will begin at 12:35pm and kickoff is set for 1pm.

MLB

The No. 2 seed Cleveland Guardians and No. 1 seed New York Yankees continued their series with Game 3 last night. Cleveland remains alive in the fight for a trip to the World Series. They were able to come away with a 7-5 win against the Yankees after David Fry’s walk-off homer. Now it is a 2-1 lead for New York and Cleveland extends the series. The two teams will play again tonight for Game 4 on TBS/TruTV at 7:08pm. Next, it was Game 4 between the No. 6 New York Mets and No. 1 seed Los Angeles Dodgers. LA was able to put away the feisty Mets after a strong performance that resulted in a 10-2 victory. Dodgers now have a 3-1 series lead. They are now one win away from punching their ticket to the World Series for the first time since 2020.

WNBA

Game 4 of the WNBA Finals returns to Minnesota tonight. The No. 1 seed New York Liberty are gunning for an end to the series and the No. 2 seed Minnesota Lynx look to force Game 5 in New York. Tipoff will be at 7pm on ESPN.

NFL

Thursday Night Football took place last night on Prime Video between the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints. It was an embarrassing showing for the Saints. Riddled with injuries, Sean Payton and his Broncos made easy work of New Orleans. Denver won it, 33-10.
