The football playoffs continue today as teams continue their chase for a championship. In 11B it’s the No. 4 seed Elk Point-Jefferson hosting No. 5 seed Clark/Willow Lake at 6pm, as well as No. 2 seed Winner hosting No. 10 seed Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central at 6pm and No. 3 seed Mt. Vernon/Plankinton hosting No. 11 seed St. Thomas-More at 6pm. Then in 9AA it’ll be No. 1 seed Parkston hosting No. 8 seed Leola/Frederick Area at 7pm and No. 3 seed Elkton-Lake Benton hosting No. 11 seed Hanson at 6:30pm. Then for 9B its No. 1 seed Avon hosting No. 8 seed Canistota at 7pm and No. 4 seed Corsica-Stickney hosting No. 5 seed Sully Buttes at 6pm.
Dakota Wesleyan
Both Tiger soccer teams competed in their final regular season game last night. The women played first and ended their season unfortunately being shut out 2-0 against Morningside. They ended the year with a 4-9-1 overall record and 3-7-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The men were in a back-and-forth match with the Mustangs. They ended up falling short in the end and losing, 2-1. Their regular season ends with a 7-8-2 overall record and 4-6 in the GPAC. Men’s soccer will now prepare for the GPAC Postseason Tournament! They enter as the No. 8 seed and will face No. 1 seed Morningside this Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7pm in the Quarterfinal Round.
Your Tiger volleyball squad answered the call last night. Getting themselves back in the win column after defeating the Dordt Defenders here at home, 3-1. DWU volleyball has now won four of their last five games. With all those wins being at home in the Christen Family Athletic Center. Their next match and last road game of the year will come on Saturday when they travel to Sioux City, Iowa to face Morningside in the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center at 5pm.
Another road trip for the football team this Saturday when they travel to face new GPAC foe, the Waldorf Warriors. They will be in Forest City, Iowa to face a Warriors team hungry for their first win of the year. Your Tigers come into this needing win themselves after dropping their last two. The pregame will be at 12:35pm and kickoff is set for 1pm.

The No. 1 seed New York Yankees refuse to go away in this World Series with the No. 1 seed Los Angeles Dodgers. After keeping things going with a Game 4 win, they could not extend the series again and the Dodgers win, 7-6. They claim their first World Series title since 2020.
NFL
Time once again for Thursday Night Football tonight. It’s the Houston Texans on the road to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. A Jets team in desperate need of a win to keep their potential playoff hopes alive and the Texans hope to remain atop the AFC South with another win. The game will begin at 7:15pm on Prime Video. Then your Minnesota Vikings will be playing in Primetime on NBC/Peacock this Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts at U.S. Bank Stadium beginning at 7:20pm.
