MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) After Doug Greenway resigned as Corn Palace Director, the search was on for a replacement. Nineteen applications were received and reviewed, resulting in three people being given interviews for the position. Dave Sietsema has been offered the position and has accepted, pending City Council approval.
Mayor Jordan Hanson said that Mr. Sietsema’s emphasis on the customer experience in his interview and Sietsema’s agricultural background were selling points. Dave Sietsema most recent business and community involvement experiences have been employment at Klock Werks as well as the Director of Operations and Business Development for Synergy Sign Company based in Platte and participation on the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo Committee.
Mr. Sietsema’s appointment will be considered at the December 16, 2024, meeting of the Mitchell City Council. It is expected that his appointment will be approved, and he will take up the position after the Christmas holiday.
