MITCHELL, S.D.  (MITCHELLNOW) If your vehicle registration is due soon, you may want to renew it early this year. Officials say residents should renew as soon as possible in order to avoid delays. Starting next month, the state will switch over to new motor vehicle software. In preparation for the change, registration renewals will be offline starting February 7th. Now is a good time to start the process, especially if your registration expires before the summer. You can renew up to 90 days in advance.
