MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Spring weight restrictions are returning to South Dakota’s roadways. The state Department of Transportation and local agencies are scheduled to enact spring weight restrictions this week. SD-DOT says they’ll be in place to protect roads as thawing and melting snow saturate softened ground, causing roadbeds to be more susceptible to damage. A map of the restrictions is on the South Dakota Truck Info website at SD-Truck-Info-dot-sd-dot-gov.
