MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) There’s some unexpected, good news for the regional economy. Creighton University’s latest Rural Mainstreet Index posted its most positive numbers in two years which came as a surprise even to economist Dr. Ernie Goss. He says grain prices remain below break-even, and community bankers expect farm operations to lose money this year. Still, Goss notes that farm loan delinquencies are still very low.
