MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Farmers and advocates are demanding more federal support for South Dakota agriculture. At Saturday’s “Stand with Farmers” event in Sioux Falls, organizers expressed their frustrations over delays to the federal farm bill, USDA funding freezes, and tariffs that  are hurting local producers. They’re calling for stronger protections, more reliable support, and better education for consumers about where their food comes from. Stephanie Peterson with Fruit of the Coop says the farm bill is now two years overdue and sets the tone for agriculture nationwide and needs urgent attention.
