MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Dakota Wesleyan University has been awarded more than $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Education to fund TRIO Student Support Services through 2030. The program helps first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities stay in school and graduate with services like tutoring, financial aid guidance, counseling, and mentoring. DWU has offered TRIO SSS for 46 years, serving nearly 7,400 students since 1979. University leaders say the funding will deepen the University’s commitment to helping all students succeed while keeping debt as low as possible.
